After obtaining a collection of rare German 35mm theatre projectors, the next challenge was to find information about them. A visit to the Film Museum in Berlin resulted in discovering a unique work: Deutsche Laufbildprojektoren by Herbert Tümmel.
The book covers
326 German 35mm and 70mm projectors from 1896-1980, their technical development, and has 238 pages packed with 200 detailed images. If you need info about this type of projectors, it is a unique publication.
Published in 1986, it has been out of print for a long time. Author Herbert Tümmel worked for Zeiss Ikon/Ernemann from 1932 until 1976. Co-author/consultant Mr. Jochen Hergersberg and the German Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek were so kind to allow me to digitize it.
To get the digitized version: download it from
Share-it for a fraction of the actual digitizing cost. Bonus: included are extra research notes from Mr. Hergersberg which are not in the original book
