Vintage Camera Online is about vintage and antique photographic and cinematographic items.
The internet has sprouted a worldwide online collector community with online virtual museums, trading places, reference documentation and more.
The Vintage Camera Online website is a starting place for anyone interested in vintage and antique photography and cinematography in general, and equipment in particular.
The goal is to provide a low-threshold site with relevant information such as:
- Information about classice camera collections by private persons and museums
- Camera equipment descriptions
- Clubs and societies
- Special interest areas such as cinematography and stereoscopy
- Where to find books, ebooks, specialized camera bookstores, magazines

To fund all the activity of Vintage Camera Online, started mid 2006, a number of projects have been completed:
- Digitization of "Deutsche Laufbildprojektoren", a reference book about vintage German 70mm and 35mm projectors by Herbert Tümmel (1986) which was sold out but is available again here.
- A publication showing how to actually grow the value of your investments in cameras at an above average rate
- A guide for easily determining vintage camera values yourself
- Allowing other people's ads providing they are relevant
